Joining GridHeritage is easysimply complete our Contact Us form.

GridHeritage is a not-for-profit organisation which has been principally funded through the generosity of Transpower. There is no charge for being a member of GridHeritage, and we are always looking for new people who share our passion. There are around 65 members of our society.

Members join the society for many reasons:

  • some people simply want to be involved in ensuring that the collection is protected
  • many people enjoy the social side of GridHeritage
  • others wish to become involved in the organising and running of GridHeritage.

We will ask you to devote your time and your passion for retaining the history of the New Zealand electricity transmission industry.

We have a lot to do, like photographing and describing the collection for our professional museum database. This work is the backbone of GridHeritage. Much of the collection is housed at Transpower’s Bunnythorpe store near Palmerston North so frequent trips are made up there to catalogue our treasures.

Our Executive Team regularly checks in with members to make sure that GridHeritage is offering enough to keep everyone interested.
